Why Has the 2026 Date Changed?
The 2026 Wales Airshow has moved from its traditional early-July date to 25–26 July for 2 reasons. Swansea Council confirmed the switch from its traditional early-July date to allow the Airshow to become the official opener to the school summer holidays. The move also avoids back-to-back major events after Ironman 70.3 was scheduled for July 11 and 12.
Council leaders stated the new date gives the Airshow more breathing room and helps businesses, residents, and visitors plan ahead for one of Wales’ biggest annual spectacles.

What Are the Road Closures at Wales Airshow 2026?
Oystermouth Road is closed in both directions on both days of the Wales Airshow. This year’s event takes the same approach on road closures as before, with Oystermouth Road closed for the weekend. Emergency access is maintained, along with access to the Marina, Singleton Hospital, and Swansea University.
People travelling from outside Swansea are directed to exit the M4 at Junction 42 and use the Park and Ride at Fabian Way. Junction 45 serves the Landore Park and Ride. Non-airshow visitors heading to Gower are directed to Junction 47 at Penllergaer.

Can You Get the Train to the Wales Airshow?
Yes. Swansea Central station is approximately 2 miles from the airshow site. There are direct trains to Swansea from South Wales towns, London Paddington, Bristol Parkway, Cardiff, Newport, Hereford, Shrewsbury, Crewe, Manchester, and places in between, with connections throughout the UK.
Drones are strictly prohibited at the Wales Airshow. Any drone detected over the event area is subject to immediate action by authorities.
What Is the History of the Wales Airshow?
